Welcome to 2016! It's been a few months since my last post - but with good reason! Time has been especially hard to come by since the new year - on top of taking care of our infant, we have left California, and I have made a shift in my professional career. I've barely had time to read a book, much less write a blog post, hah.
My family and I have relocated from California (back to) Virginia. We have settled happily in the Northern Virginia area, near many of our family & friends, and actually very close to many of my professional colleagues.
For the last few years, I have run Ettus R&D as the Engineering Manager. As you might have surmised, this would be pretty difficult to do from the other side of the country. Thus, as of the end of January 2016, I have handed that role off to Robin Coxe, who joined Ettus Research last year from Analog Devices.
I have actually transitioned out of R&D, and am now the USRP Software Products Manager, working for Manuel Uhm. On top of being the Director of Marketing for Ettus Research, Manuel chairs the Board of Directors for the Wireless Innovation Forum. Being located in the D.C. Metro Area is ideal for my new role, as it's an easy drive from many of our partners and customers.
Going forward, I'm looking forward to having more time for hobbies like writing & reading. This should hopefully get easier once I'm getting a bit more sleep during the night, hah. I have ideas written down for about a dozen posts, some parenting related and others not, which I would love to get to in the coming weeks.
If you're in the D.C. area, give me a shout, and let's meet up for beers!
